Free Candle Making Workshop 14/04/2026 1:30pm-4:30pm

This welcoming and hands-on candle making workshop provides a calm and creative environment for adults to learn a traditional craft while building connections within their local community. Led by an experienced facilitator, participants will be guided through the process of designing and creating their own candles, exploring techniques such as scent blending, colour selection and moulding. The sessions are informal, supportive and suitable for complete beginners, with all materials provided.

Supported through Sunderland City Council’s Coalfields Area Committee, the programme has been designed to promote positive mental health and wellbeing. It offers a valuable opportunity for individuals to take time out from daily pressures, engage in a soothing, sensory activity and express themselves in a creative way. The group setting encourages gentle social interaction, helping to ease feelings of isolation and create a sense of shared experience.
